Great as Mega Man 2 was, the game did have balance issues. The Metal Blade fired in 8 directions in a game designed for two, used almost no energy and unless you were fighting a boss immune to it, it was your weapon of choice.

Not to mention, the Boss weakest to it was Metal Man himself. What was Wily thinking?

Omg... THIS comic. I was still new to the art of it and I already had to deal with something this big. Bruno's castle is so convoluted, and there was little references to its interior to work with. So it honestly was a challenge to create the feeling of it being the real place. Hope it was a success.

Ofc AirMan says that weapon was a joke. He was one of the few blessed with inmunity to it. No wonder people overall say the Metal Blade is the best weapon in gaming history.

I can understand 8 directions D-pad wise, but what’s the 9th?

Towards your own feet

But wouldn’t 8 directions be up, down, L, R, and the 4 diagonals? Or is it different than that and I’m just being stupid about it all?
